Countdown

I’m counting down the days to when I leave Ha Noi. To when I go back home to the states.

Vietnam has been everything I’ve asked for. Ha Noi, even more. Gerard sent out an email yesterday about “Re-entry shock.” Tomorrow we will discuss the process of returning to the US and the reverse culture shock we will get. I’m counting down to the days where I’m going to be the in US but oh-so-depressed, yearning to be back on the streets of Ha Noi and eating some goood ass vietnamese food. Geeze, how will I deal with the food?

But to look on the positive side, I’m excited to go back and finally sit down and reflect on my experience. I definitely haven’t been able to do that, because I’ve been distracted by “living it up” here in Vietnam. But it’s needed. I can already image all EAP bay area kids huddling up in someone’s living room, drinking beer and pretending it was “Bia Hoi” and laughing about the endless memories and experience.

Remember when…

We first found bucket?

Eating our first meal?

Realizing the cigs are $1

Our first bike ride along the coast of Quy Nhon..

The dramatic EAP letter?

Mosquito killers in An giang?

Village dancing at Kon Thom?

The best chao ever in Cu Chi

Vu face, vu face, vu face.

Skinny dipping in Quy Nhon

The best meal ever in….. (bah, can’t decide.)

Crazy teachers in Nghe An

If i could make a list of “Things I crossed off on my bucket list, in Vietnam”… 50% of my bucket list would be crossed off. For Haejin, it would be 75%
